It's clear that Johnny Depp can't get enough of his fiancee, Amber Heard.During a pre-taped interview with Today'sSavannah Guthrie set to air Friday, the notoriously-private actor couldn't help but to gush about his bride-to-be.
"She's a wonderful girl," the Lone Ranger star said. "She's sharp as a tack. A southern belle and sweet as can be, and very good for me."
The couple, who first met on the set of 2011's The Rum Diary, got engaged after Depp, 50, popped the question on Christmas Eve. A source previously told that Heard, 27, hesitated for a while before saying yes.
"Amber really took her time to make up her mind," a source close to the couple told us. "She turned him down before she said yes. So she waited and was thinking about it for a long time."
Despite the brief set back, Depp has been nothing thrilled about his upcoming nuptials, even going so far as to wearing an engagement ring of his own. Last month, the actor confirmed the engagement news at a Transcendence press junket in Beijing, China after he showed up onstage sporting diamond bling on thatring.
"The fact that I'm wearing a chick's ring on my finger is probably a dead giveaway. Not very subtle," he told the crowd.
Depp and Heard confirmed they were indeed an item in June 2012 shortly after the actor split from his longtime partner Vanessa Paradis, 41, after 14 years together. Prior to the relationship, Heard had been dating photographer Tasya van Ree for four years.
