Peaches Geldof Dead at 25


Peaches Geldof, fashion model and daughter of Bob Geldof, has died, according to the BBC. She was 25 years old.
Geldof was born in March 1989. Her father is Bob Geldof, the lead singer for the Boomtown Rats and founder of Band Aid. She was the second daughter of Geldof and his wife, TV presenter Paula Yates. Geldof began writing as a teenager, she wrote columns for The GuardianThe Daily Telegraph and UK's Elle Girl before the age of 18. She began modeling as a teenager. Geldof also followed in her mother's footsteps, hosting TV shows on Sky One, ITV2 and MTV One.
Geldof was pronounced dead Monday after police were called to her apartment in Wrotham, near London. Police describe her death as "unexplained and sudden." She was perhaps most famous in America for her partying and a 2008 video that showed her buying Valium from the same dealer who supplied Amy Winehouse with the drugs that eventually killed her. Her own mother died in September 2000 of an overdose.
Geldof is survived by her father Bob, sisters Fifi, Pixie and Tiger Lily, as well as her husband Thomas Cohen and their two young sons Astala and Phaedra.
