KUWTK:Kanye West Pulls Off a Surprise Proposal for Kim Kardashian

Valentine's Day may be over, but romance is still alive and well on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Four months after Kanye West proposed to Kim Kardashian on her 33rd birthday in San Francisco, viewers got to see the whole thing go down on the Sunday, Feb. 16, episode of her family's reality show.
At the beginning of the hour, Kim's sisters Kourtney and Khloe are calling all of her friends and family to organize the trip up North  when Kim walks in and almost ruins the surprise. Fortunately, she's more interested in Kylie's outfit than whatever they're doing on the phone.

The conversation then shifts to Scott's mom, Bonnie, who's in ICU with some very serious health problems. (As fans know, Bonnie actually passed away last October.) Kourtney is understandably worried about her longtime love  Scott's mom "means the world to him," she says. "She's so lovable and sweet."
Scott decides to skip Kim's birthday celebration and instead flies to New York to be with his parents. "I'd love to be there," he says of the San Francisco surprise. "I'm sure I'll miss out on something unforgettable...but I feel like my mom needs me more than ever. Right now I just need to worry about my mom and dad and be present for them."

Meanwhile, the rest of the family is on a private plane headed for San Francisco. No one has any idea what's going on  except family matriarch Kris Jenner. "I know my mom knows way more than she's letting on, and that's okay," Khloe says. "I want to be surprised."
Once in San Francisco, the Kardashian/Jenner women get to work on getting ready. But their good moods are dampened slightly when Kourtney gets word that Scott's mom has had a seizure. Everyone's trying really hard to be in the moment and be happy for Kim, but they're all dealing with their own issues, too.

From the hotel, the family heads to AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants, where several of Kim and Kanye's loved ones  including famed jeweler Lorraine Schwartz  are already waiting. Once they get word that Kim is en route to the stadium, they head to the dugouts to watch Kanye's surprise.
As Kim and Kanye pull onto the field, an orchestra starts playing Lana Del Rey's "Young and Beautiful," and roman candles go off all around them. "I really am in a movie right now," Khloe gushes. "This is so spectacular. It's so stunning and breathtaking...it's truly a magical moment."

It's even more magical when Kanye gets down on one knee and asks Kim to marry him, as the words "Pleeease marry meee!" flash across the stadium screen. After she says yes, everyone runs out on the field to congratulate the happy couple. "I'm, like, shaking," Kim says repeatedly. Of the 15-carat diamond ring, she adds, "It really is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I just can't believe I'm engaged."
"It is so crazy to me that this is all happening," she gushes later in a confessional. "Kanye really outdid himself. It feels like I'm in a dream. It's just the most amazing experience. I am the biggest investigator, so the fact that I didn't see one sign of this happening is the surprise of a lifetime."

Back in New York, Scott is still coping with his mom's deteriorating health. He calls Kourtney while she's lunching with friends, and everyone at the table gets emotional as they listen to her talk to him about the situation. At one point, in response to a question from Scott, she says simply, "I think a casket," and Khloe's best friend Malika tears up.
A few days later, Scott joins the rest of the family at Kanye's concert in Las Vegas. Kourtney is worried that he's there and not with his parents, so she makes the decision to fly back to New York with him after the show. A title card notes that Bonnie died the very next day.
